Welcome to the website of Rutgers University Habitat for Humanity! We invite you to join us in our effort to build sustainable and decent houses in partnership with those in need of adequate shelter. Since 1976, Habitat International has built or repaired 400,000 homes, and we are honored to help out this great, widespread cause.

Our campus chapter is a student-run, student-led organization. As a campus chapter, we have four functions: building, fundraising, advocating and educating. Each weekend, our members volunteer at local Habitat affiliates in various stages of housing projects. In addition to this, dedicated members travel to different states to help build during our winter and spring breaks. Throughout the school year, we fundraise and advocate both at Rutgers University and in the surrounding areas. We are constantly looking for ways to expand our mission and goal.

In May of 2012, we agreed, for the first time in our chapter’s history, to completely fund and build a home, which is to be located in Plainfield, New Jersey. While construction will begin in the summer of 2013, we are actively engaging the community in fundraising to reach the $100,000 goal.

If you or your organization are interested in getting involved in a build, fundraiser, or any other event, please feel free to reach out to us.
